Balancing the Chaos: A Working Mom’s Journey to Finding Purpose and Peace

Hi, I’m Kelsea!

Welcome to Mile High Chaos, Coffee & Crayons, a space I created to share my personal journey of navigating the beautiful chaos that comes with being a working mom, while juggling my role as the primary breadwinner, wife, and mom to two amazing kids.

I’m a proud mom to Rylie and Easton, and wife to my wonderful husband, Julian. I know firsthand the struggles of trying to find balance in this demanding world of career, motherhood, and self-care. As a full-time working mom, I’m constantly navigating the challenges of childcare, maintaining a career, and finding moments of peace for myself. It’s a delicate balance, and sometimes it feels like I'm running on caffeine, crayons, and sheer willpower.

But even in the chaos, I've found tools, tips, and experiences that have helped me, and I’m here to share those with you. Whether it’s managing childcare in Colorado (where it feels like we’re paying for a second mortgage in childcare costs!), finding creative outlets to keep my kids entertained, or simply carving out moments for date nights with Julian, I want to offer guidance, knowledge, and a sense of community to fellow working moms.

I love the Denver Broncos, spending quality time with my family, and using my creativity to make things for my kids, family, and friends. This blog is where I can share the things that have worked for me, resources I’ve found useful, crafts to make with your little ones, tips for navigating a high-demand career while raising young children, and, of course, practical advice to make life a little easier.

I want to help you embrace the chaos and remind you that, while life as a working mom in Colorado (or anywhere!) can feel overwhelming, you don’t have to do it alone. Here, we’ll talk about the real stuff, everything from juggling childcare and work to self-care and the little moments that make it all worth it. Let’s connect, share, and support each other in this incredible journey.
